Death To New England Record Release w/The Zambonis @ Cafe 9 – Jan. 22nd

Death To New England (ex-members of the Battlecats) will be celebrating the release of their debut EP (and guitarist Sean Beirne’s birthday) this Friday, January 22nd at Cafe Nine. Joining Death To New England will be Connecticut’s ultimate hockey-rock band The Zambonis. DTNE conveys much of the same garage-rock thump that their old band, the Battlecats, were known for only with a more bluesier, grimier feel. Singer/songwriter/bassist Jimmy Jude remains the focal point of the band, his charisma channeling strongly both on record and in a live setting. Be sure to check out the review of Death To New England’s new EP in the forthcoming issue of the New Haven Advocate. As for the Zambonis, anyone remotely interested in both hockey and rock music will have a field day with this band. They have become a Connecticut music institution of sorts and, based upon their unique presentation and catchy songs, its easy to see why.

Steven Deal Record Release @ Cafe 9 – Jan. 8th

This Friday, January 8th Tweefort will be presenting a record release party at Cafe Nine for Steven Deal‘s new disc ‘Radio Twelve.’

‘Radio Twelve’ is Steven Deal’s first solo album after years of playing in local bands like Bleached Black (who toured the USA and Canada), Chopper, The Absolute Zeros and The Naomi Star. Those familiar with the pop/punk sensibilities of Deal’s previous projects will not be disappointed with his newer material which pushes those envelopes and then some.

Joining Deal for the show will be the Brooklyn based Boy Genius whose latest album, “Staggering,” is creating some major buzz on indie-pop blogs around the country. Locals the Mold Monkies, who also contain members of Deal’s former band The Absolute Zeros, round out the bill.
