[NHM] New Haven Music

Golden Microphone presents PAUL BELBUSTI, SHANDY LAWSON @ Neverending Books – Feb. 6th

Golden Microphone presents the latest in their weekend concert series at Neverending Books this Saturday, February 6th with singer/songwriters Paul Belbusti (Mercy Choir, LeftandRight) and Shandy Lawson.

Belbusti, who recently departed to NYC for greener pastures, has long been a fixture on the New Haven scene. Fronting local favorites LeftandRight in the early 2000s and, more recently, Mercy Choir, Belbusti has always brought to the table a solid sense of melody, vocal harmony and lyricism that continuously sets him above the status quo. Paul is currently working on a new album with Mercy Choir while simultaneously planning shows throughout the tri-state area. Check out some of his recordings (as well as those from other artists) on his label Dead Language Records.

After over ten years of playing shows around New Haven and five outstanding records, Shandy Lawson, the solo performer, is calling it quits. As Shandy explains on his website shandylawson.com: “I’ve spent the last decade singing for New Haven and while I love every soul that’s ever come out to see me play, I think someone else can use the luck more than I.” While we will all certainly miss Shandy’s music and presence on the local scene, we wish him luck in whatever endeavor, musical or otherwise, that may come his way. Make sure to come out as this Saturday’s show will be his second to last.
